Summer Program

The Indian Youth Summer Program offers a wide, cultural variety of activities for the American Indian youth in Spokane. It is that time of the year for the NATIVE Project/ Native Health of Spokane, Spokane Public Schools Title VII, Medicine Wheel Academy and Safe Schools/ Healthy Students, to put on their annual Indian Youth Summer Program 2008. Last year, we served 101 youth from all walks of life. This year the students will be attending culture, prevention, wellness, math, science, and reading classes in the mornings and will also participate in structured physical activities during the afternoons. Fridays will be reserved for field trips.
During this past summer, the students went to Cannon Park & Pool on Thursday afternoons, Cattails, Riverfront Park & IMAX, Pattison's Roller Rink, Splashdown, AMC Theatres and Silverwood Theme Park. Breakfast and lunch will be provided everyday, along with a morning & afternoon snack. These services are FREE of charge to all participants.
We will start accepting Indian Youth Summer Program 2008 Registration Forms
on Monday, May 12th, 2008 and will closing the application process Friday, June 13th, 2008.
Please turn in forms to The N.A.T.I.V.E. Project or MWA.
